High school students, give yourself some credit!

Earn a semester’s worth of university credit at no cost during your junior and senior year of high school with Mountain State University’s High School Scholarship Program. Here’s how it works: After signing up for the program and being provisionally admitted to the University, you are permitted to enroll for free in freshman or sophomore-level classes on a space-available basis. You may take up to 6 hours of coursework a year for a total of up to 12 hours. Your only cost is for textbooks and supplies.

Once you have completed a course with a grade of C or better, the credit hours for that course are held in a special account. To move them onto a regular University transcript, all you have to do is complete a semester (or two summer sessions) of full-time study as a regular student at Mountain State University during or within a year of your graduation from high school. At the end of the semester or summer term, your transcript will include both the hours you have just completed and those that you earned under the High School Scholarship. You can apply the credit toward one of MSU’s degree programs or transfer it to another college or university.

You must meet all prerequisites for the courses you enroll in; some courses may require a placement exam. High School Scholarship students are not eligible to enroll in independent study courses or those taught through the University’s health sciences programs.
